Explore the authentic and traditional side of Bangkok with our unique full-day Tuk-Tuk tour.
At 8:00 am, your guide will meet you in front of your hotel for your sightseeing tour through the streets of Bangkok.
Explore the vibrant capital in a tuk-tuk, one of the most traditional vehicles in South-East Asia, and discover the most authentic area of Bangkok. Start with the lively neighborhood of Banglampoo, passing Khao San Road, known for its backpacker enclave, and Phra Sumeru Fortress. Set amongst the peaceful verdant gardens of Santi Chai Prakan Park, the Phra Sumen Fortress is one of the original fortifications that once surrounded the old city of Rattanakosin. It now stands as an everlasting witness of the mutations that Thai culture undergoes in the heart of one of Asia’s most thriving and busy cities. Finally, stop at Wat Bowonniwet, a major Buddhist temple where many royal princes and kings studied and served their monkhood.
Progressing in the old streets of Bangkok, you’ll get to visit the breathtaking Wat Traimit, also known as the Golden Buddha (whose traditional name is Phra Phuttha Maha Suwan Patimakon). It’s the largest solid gold statue in the world, and one of the most precious treasures of Thailand and the Buddhist religion.
You’ll explore the hidden alleys, see the traditional monks’ alms bowl that was made from scratch in Bangkok’s only remaining workshop, and climb 108 steps to the top of the Golden Mount. Once a fortress to protect the old city from Burmese invaders with its 360-degree Bangkok views, it’s today an incredible viewpoint to admire the city from above.
In the afternoon, accompanied by your guide, the transfer to Taling Chang Pier, a beautiful province of Bangkok (30 minutes by ferry).
You will discover the lively atmosphere of the Taling Chang, a very authentic floating market close to Bangrak. It’s a real gem of Thai culture, not yet altered by the striking transformations that every tourist place inevitably undergoes. The floating market of Taling Chan is definitely a fascinating place where you can spend several hours visiting Thai villages.
At the end of your visit, disembark at the pier and return to your hotel by the BTS Skytrain.
