At 8:15 am, join the meeting point near the old gate of Chiang Mai. After a quick 15 minutes gathering and introduction from the English-speaking tour guide, the bike adventure can start!
Ride your bike and pedal to the local train station to catch the train heading to Lamphun.
A 30-minute train ride will take you south from Chiang Mai to the must-see province of Lamphun. Once there, get back on your bike and explore the quiet streets and alleys beyond the ancient city walls to the sacred temple of Phra That Hariphunchai. Get ready to be mesmerized by this magnificent pagoda with its impressive golden chedi.
After an exploration of the ancient city, ride through the countryside and relish the serene atmosphere of this place. Immersed in nature, wander through lush orchards and along peaceful canals.
The tour will take a break in a small village on the banks of the Ping River for a delicious Thai meal.
After lunch, cross the Ping River and ride through the rice fields until you finally get to the wood carving village of Baan Tawai. Park your bikes and take a little moment to walk around and admire the impressive art of the woodcarvers. Baan Tawai village was awarded OTOP Tourism Village of Thailand because of its unique character as the wood carving village and the worldwide reputation of its skilled craftsmen.
From Ban Tawai, ride along the main road to the Hang Dong District Market where you’ll get off your bikes for a tour of the local market. Take this opportunity to regain energy with cold drinks and delicious local Thai snacks.
Off to the next spot, pedal down back roads and country lanes through small villages, plains, and wooded lanes until you reach the foot of Doi Suthep Temple. Along the way, we will stop at an ancient forest shrine dedicated to one of Chiang Mai’s founding kings.
After rolling down a couple of hills, the tour will arrive at the renowned forest temple and meditation center of Wat Umong. Leave the bikes again and take a walk through the caves of the temple.
Finally, get back on your iron steed for a final ride into the city, passing the Chiang Mai University campus to reach your morning meeting point in Chiang Mai’s old city.
The tour ends with sore muscles and unforgettable memories.
