Day 2: Discover the former royal capital and its handicrafts
Stops: Luang Prabang
Morning dedicated to exploring Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A small town with a unique and timeless atmosphere. In this former royal capital and cultural center of the country, recognized by UNESCO as the best-preserved city, you can explore the morning market and temples from the viewpoint of Mount Phousi. Then, visit a weaving center where you can learn all about this major Laotian tradition. Participate in a dyeing workshop: collect plants, roots, flowers, seeds, and bark from the garden to produce different pigments. You will follow traditional dyeing recipes to create your own creation.

Day 3: Rice Cultivation and the Historic Center
Stops: Luang Prabang
Take the road to the rice fields, where you will discover all the stages of rice cultivation: from sowing to harvest, all the way to its arrival on your plate. You will spend a beautiful morning with your feet in the water in the Laotian countryside, wearing a traditional hat.
Enjoy lunch at the center before returning to the peninsula.
Then, you’ll wander the cobbled streets lined with centuries-old temples, monasteries, and pretty colonial houses of the UNESCO World Heritage city.
Free evening to explore the night market. Take the opportunity to see the illuminated royal temple (again).

Day 4: The Crystal Clear Waters of Kuang Si
Stops: Luang Prabang
A day outside the city, en route to the Kuang Si Waterfalls. You’ll take a road through the countryside and rice paddies to reach these crystal-clear waterfalls. Swim at the foot of a waterfall, in one of its pools filled with turquoise water.
In the park below, you can visit a black-necked bear reserve. On the way back, visit a buffalo farm whose milk is now used, among other things, to make local cheeses and ice cream, which you can enjoy.

Day 5: Encountering the Elephants
Stops: Luang Prabang
It is in the heart of this small haven of peace that the majestic giants of the Laotian forests have found refuge, far from logging and mistreatment. The elephants are pampered and cared for by a team of enthusiasts working to preserve the species.
Meet this emblematic animal before setting off on a trek accompanied by these immense pachyderms.

Day 6: Family Activities in the Heart of the Jungle
Stops: Luang Prabang
A day spent in a natural park, the perfect place to try a multitude of outdoor activities (waterfalls, hiking trails, sports and crafts).
You will participate in a workshop making Sa paper, or mulberry paper, used to make dreamcatchers typical of the Tai Lue ethnic minority. A chance to take home some lovely handmade souvenirs.
In the afternoon, explore the surrounding jungle with a 6-stage zipline adventure, which will delight beginners and experienced hikers alike: thrills guaranteed!

Day 7: Relaxing on the Right Bank of Luang Prabang
Stops: Luang Prabang
This morning, your guide will meet you at the hotel. You will cross the Mekong River by local ferry to explore the right bank of Luang Prabang and its peaceful little village by bike, home to three main temples: Wat Xieng Mene, the village’s main temple, Wat Long Khun, and Wat Chomphet, a small sanctuary offering beautiful views of Luang Prabang. You will be able to enjoy the serene atmosphere of these places.

Day 8: Vang Vieng and its mountain landscapes
Stops: Vang Vieng
Head to Vang Vieng via the brand new train line. Crossing one of the most mountainous regions of Laos, this line, which features numerous tunnels and bridges, significantly shortens travel times.
The city of Vang Vieng is especially famous for the splendid karst landscapes that surround it, reminiscent of a terrestrial Ha Long Bay. The city is bordered by the Nam Song River, where you can go canoeing or kayaking.

Day 9: Kayak trip between caves and lagoons
Stops: Vang Vieng
Today’s program includes a short stroll through the countryside between karst cliffs, rice paddies, and lagoons. Visit one of the largest caves in the province and take a kayak trip on the river: an opportunity to paddle along these karst cliff landscapes while taking in a breath of fresh air. Then, relax and discover several lagoons where you can swim. You can even cross caves on an inflatable tube!

Day 10: Give Laotian wildlife a helping hand
Stops: Nam Pian
This morning, hit the road towards the protected Phu Kao Kuay National Park, ideal for spending quality time outdoors with the family.
Along the way, stop at the Lao Wildlife Conservation Center, the leading multi-species rescue, conservation, and education organization. Its mission is to stop the illegal wildlife trade and improve the education and welfare of Laos’ wildlife. The other goal for all its rescued animals is to rehabilitate and release them into protected areas.
You’ll learn about all the animals at the Center, but you’ll also have the opportunity to impact the lives of the resident animals by making enrichment items for them and then watching them enjoy them.
Return to the road for a mid-afternoon arrival at your hotel.

Day 12: Vientiane, Discovering the Capital

Return to civilization: en route to the capital, Vientiane.
You will begin your visit to the capital with its magnificent temples and its famous Arc de Triomphe. After exploring the north and its traditions, you will discover the modern side of the country, with its rapidly developing capital. Visit the famous Buddha Park, a blend of Buddhist and Hindu elements: this large, atypical garden is nestled in the outskirts of the capital.
Free evening to stroll along the banks of the Mekong River and enjoy its nightlife.
