Covid 19 Travel Updates

• Since March 22, 2020, entry of all foreigners are suspended until further notice. The measure will not apply to diplomats, officials, foreign investors, experts, and skilled workers.
• Vietnam’s Ministry of Health extended the mandatory quarantine period to 21 days for all foreign arrivals as well as those who has come in contact with COVID-19 positive patients.
• All passengers using public means of transport (bus, taxi, trains, planes, ships, etc.), or accessing public spaces (including hospitals) must complete online health declaration.
• Authorities are imposing lockdown measures in Ho Chi Minh City July 9-24 due to increased local COVID-19 activity.

• Vietnam Airlines resumed some international flights connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with South Korea, Japan, and Australia from April 3.
• However, only repatriated approved Vietnamese citizens and approved foreign experts will be allowed to enter Vietnam.

• No visas are being issued to people travelling from a country with cases of COVID-19. 
• However, the Lao authorities may consider granting special entry permission for foreigners e.g. experts, technicians and foreign nationals that are needed for essential projects (all must present a Certificate of Entry (issued by the MFA); a completed Health Declaration form; and a ‘Fit to Fly’ Certificate issued no more than 72 hours prior to travel).
• All arrivals will be subjected to a COVID-19 test at their own expenses. Positive cases will be admitted to hospitals for treatment. Negative cases will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine at designated locations (with all expenses covered by individuals or their organisations/companies)
• Lockdown are extended through July 19 with certain relaxations.

• International freight and cargo transportation will be required to comply with COVID-19 prevention measures.

• All visa exemptions, visas on arrival and e-visas are suspended (except passengers with a diplomatic visa (Visa A) or an official visa (Visa B) issued by Cambodia).
• Passengers must obtain an insurance policy issued by “FORTE” with a minimum medical coverage of USD 50,000, and have a deposit of $2000 on a designated bank on arrival (does not apply to Cambodian nationals, passengers with a diplomatic visa (Visa A) or an official visa (Visa B) issued by Cambodia, nationals of Cambodia with a foreign passport and a Visa K entry permit issued by Cambodia, or passengers traveling on business with a Validation Application on Payment Guarantee/Invitation” (VAPGI).
• All passengers are subjected to a COVID-19 test. Negative cases will still have to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
• It is compulsory for all individuals to wear a face mask when going out in public.

• All passengers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued at no more than 72 hours before departure.
• Passengers are subject to medical screening and quarantine for 14 days.

• Myanmar’s Foreign Affairs Ministry announced the extension of entry restrictions for all travelers to the end of June.
• Suspension of all types of visas issuance and visa exemption services.
• Foreign nationals, including diplomats and United Nations officials, who wish to travel to Myanmar by relief or special flights due to urgent official missions or compelling reasons, are asked to contact Myanmar mission for possible exception to certain visa restrictions.
• It is compulsory for all individuals to wear a face mask when going out in public.

• Until 20 June, 2021, flights to Myanmar are suspended (this does not apply to medevac flights).
• All passengers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued at no more than 72 hours before departure (does not applied to Myanmar nationals)
• Passengers are subjected to 14-day quarantine.
• Airline crew are subjected to quarantine until their next flight.

• Travelers entering under the “Tourist visa exemption scheme” can stay for up to 45 days.
• Most travelers to Thailand are now required to complete 10 days (11 nights) quarantine at a State Quarantine or Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) facility.
• Travelers from countries identified by Thailand as having COVID-19 variants will be required to complete 14 days (15 nights) of quarantine.
• Vaccine certificate holder and are entering Thailand from a country with no COVID-19 variant strains may be eligible to only complete 7 days of quarantine.
• It is compulsory for all individuals to wear a face mask when going out in public, while temperature checks are the norm. Those who do not wear masks face fines.

• All travelers must provide proof of an insurance policy that covers treatment for Covid-19 up to the cost of $100,000 and a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.
• Domestic travel options within Thailand are available but remain subject to disease control measures. Passengers will be required to download an app or complete additional travel documentation.
