DAY 01 : CHIANG MAI – DOI INTHANON NATIONAL PARK – MAE CHAEM
Free lunch and dinner – night at Mae Chaem - arrival in Chiang Mai before 8am - 2h40 drive
You are welcomed at the airport of Chiang Mai by our local team and your English speaking guide. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon.
Visit of Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest mountain in Thailand, peaking at 2565 meters above the sea level is rich in plant and animal species, with waterfalls, natural hiking trails and hill tribe villages such as the Hmong and Karen, the park is the best attraction of Chiang Mai. Our tour takes you along beautiful forest roads of the park and its many attractions such as: 1) The pagodas scattered around the area. 2) Karen villages 3) Wachiratharn waterfalls 4) two twin pagodas built to commemorate the 5th cycle birthdays of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. These Pagodas retain the ashes and Buddha images.

Drive to the valley of Mae Chaem and its river Ping watering Chiang Mai. Traditional weaving cotton town famous for its production of northern style sarongs. Visit Wat Pa Daet temple built in 1877 and restored in 1980. Possibility to ask the monks to open the viharn to discover its treasure consisting of wall paintings dating from the 19th century. After this interesting tour, visit of the very particular market frequented by mountain tribes, enjoy the scenery and stunning views of Doi Inthanon. Visit the temples of Wat Yang Luang, Wat Puttha In, Wat Phrao Num and Wat Kong Ka. You will discover a beautiful Buddha, the beautiful architecture buildings and a famous source of drinking water.

DAY 02 : MAE CHAEM – OB LUANG NATIONAL PARK – DOI TAO - TAK

Breakfast at hotel then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Ob Luang National Park.
This picturesque gorge with a river is pleasantly dotted with teak forests and hills. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Doi Tao behind the Bhumibol Dam in Tak.
Free lunch at the lake. Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Tak. This unknown province around Mae Sot and Umphang is known for its beautiful river.

DAY 03 : TAK – MAE SOT - UMPHANG
Free lunch and dinner – night at Umphang- 3h20 drive
Breakfast at hotel. Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Mae Sot. Outside the city is the Mu Soe Hill Tribe Market, which offers a wide range of local fruits, vegetables, silverware, clothes and other products from that region. Open from morning until late afternoon, it offers a unique atmosphere created by the local tribe’s community. Located in the mountainous region of northern Thailand, the region offers a scenic journey before arriving in Mae Sot. Discovery of Mae Sot, its Burmese Market, an amazing cultural mix. There find Indo-Burmese textiles, food, teak, turtles, eels, frogs, gems and jade.
Lunch. Visit of the following sites: Pha Charoen waterfalls, the Hmong village of Ban Pa Kha Kao. Arrival by late afternoon in the small town of Umphang, a wildlife sanctuary. The path leads through more than 1,000 curves along a desert breathtaking road. Umphang is part of the 6000m² wildlife sanctuary of Huai Kha Khaeng Thungyai, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1991.

DAY 04 : UMPHANG

DAY 05 : UMPHANG – MAE SOT – MAE SARIANG
Free lunch and dinner - night at Mae Sariang- 8h drive, 418km
Breakfast at hotel. Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Umphang. We continue our journey along the Thai-Burma border, on the banks of the Moei River. Discovery of Karen and Lawa tribe villages to Mae Sariang. One of the cultural highlights of this region are the authentic hill tribe villages.
Lunch during the visit. Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Mae Sariang. A pretty river runs on the west side of Mae Sariang with beautiful teak houses. You can visit the two most beautiful temples in the city, the Wat Si and Wat Jong Bunruang Sun in Burmese style. Visit of the Museum of Mae Sariang, a wooden building in a traditional Thai design. The museum displays and sales "One Tambol One Product" (OTOP).

DAY 06 : MAE SARIANG – KHUN YUAM – MAE HONG SON
Free lunch and dinner - night at Mae Hong Son- 1.5h drive
Breakfast at hotel. Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Khun Yuam to visit the War Museum of military equipment, with a collection of photos of the 2nd World War. The Nam Tok Mae Surin National park has a lovely waterfall, 80 meters height. Visit a Hmong village. Came from southern China through Laos, they are the second most numerous people of the mountains. You will see their living conditions and traditions in altitude.
Lunch during the visit. Visit of three temples near Mae Hong Son Lake: 1) Wat Chong Kham: founded in 1827, rebuilt after a fire in the 1970s. 2) Wat Chong Klang built in the 1860s, its Burmese style chedi can be easily seen from the shore of the lake. Inside you will discover many Buddha statues and 200 paintings painted glass depicting scenes from the Jataka tales. 3) Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu is the main attraction of Mae Hong Son. The temple is difficult to reach but these Burmese-style temples, statues of Buddha and the beautiful views are well worth the effort. The best time to visit is at sunset between November and February when the surrounding mountains are shrouded in fog.

DAY 07: MAE HONG SON – THAM LOD - PAI

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit of three different Red Karen villages: The Padaung, also known as the Kayan from Burma with their famous "giraffe women" because of their spiral necklaces wrapped around their necks. The Kayaws are also part of the Karen, famous for their "women with long ears." The Kayah Li famous for their "Elephants Women", they wrap their legs with cotton rings.
Free lunch. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Ban Tham Lod.
Visit Tham Lod caves by bamboo raft, exploration of its many limestone and its prehistoric coffins. Visit (if good weather) three other tribe villages: Ban Bang Paek (Lisu tribe), famous for their bright clothes. Ban Mae Ping (Karen tribe) and Ban Ban Jabo and Payang (Lahu tribe). The Lahu women wear red and black jackets with narrow black skirts.

DAY 08 : PAI – MAE TAENG – MAE NGAT - CHIANG DAO

Breakfast at hotel. Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Mae Ngat. Stop to visit the dam. Drive through rice fields and hills to reach the Sri Lanna National Park

DAY 09: CHIANG DAO – DOI ANGKHANG - THATON
Free lunch and dinner - night at Thaton - 2h bike ride- 1.5h drive
Breakfast at the hotel, then 2 hours bike ride (10 km) to explore the beautiful surroundings. Visit of Chiang Dao Caves in Ban Tham. Discovery of Doi Luang - the limestone mountain with a cone shape in the Chiang Dao Wildlife Reserve , 2195 meters above the sea level, the third highest peak in Thailand. The region is rich in flowers, birds, and butterflies.
Free lunch (suggestion: the excellent restaurant of Chiang Dao in Nest Resort). Then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Doi Ang Khang National Park (93km-58mi-1,5 hour)
The Agricultural Ang Khang Royal Center is specialized in crops and flowering plants, fruit trees, vegetables. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Thaton. Discovery of the Fang Hot Springs located at Ban Pin, 50 hot springs, 5 hectares in the middle of the forest. Three of them are continuously boiling at temperatures ranging from 90 to 100 ° C. Visit Wat Ban Tha Ton located on the banks of the Kok River. Tha Ton is the best starting point for travel in canoes down the river to Chiang Rai, a journey of 3.5 hours through hill tribe villages and jungle.

DAY 10 : THATON – MAE FA LUANG – GOLDEN TRIANGLE – CHIANG KHONG

Breakfast at hotel, then transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Mae Salong. The cultural and artistic Fah Luang Park in Chiang Rai concentrates one of the largest collections of Lanna antiques. The park has three main buildings housing various exhibitions of teak wood works. Visitors can also have the opportunity to admire, near the Doi Tung Royal Villa built in 1990, the beautiful flower garden of Mae Fah Luang. Mae Salon is a village located in the middle of the Golden Triangle, it offers splendid panoramic views all around. It is an ideal place for hiking peacefully in a beautiful nature, away from the crowds. The story of Mae Salong is related to opium trade and the Kuomintang. This tour will take you in the footsteps of KMT soldiers whose descendants are the present inhabitants of Mae Salong. You will discover during this half day tea plantations, ethnic minorities and an interesting history page. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle Mae Salong to Mae Sai.
Free lunch. Mae Sai is the northernmost town in Thailand. It is one of the three crossing points between Thailand and Myanmar. There are many markets with varied products with a strong influence from Burma - clothes, jewels. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Chiang Khong. Ban Sop Ruak (the "Golden Triangle" point) meets the borders of three countries: Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Visit the Opium Museum and cruise on the Mekong River. Visit the majestic Phra That Chom Kitti Wat facing the Golden Triangle and the walled city of Chiang Saen, former capital of the Thai kingdom Yonok (built from 1419), with 70 temples including the remains of Wat Paa Sak and museum.

DAY 11 : CHIANG KHONG – HOUAY XAI – MEKONG CRUISE - PAKBENG (LAOS)

Breakfast at hotel. Early morning you will cross the border for a cruise from 7:30 am on a traditional boat. Thus begins the discovery of the banks of the Mekong, mythical river that runs through China, Laos separates Burma and Thailand, plunges into Cambodia and opens in Vietnam. The landscape is wonderful. Main axis of communication between the North of the country and Luang Prabang, it is a busy road lined with villages. You will visit two river villages during this tour. After lunch on board, you will arrive at Pakbeng, town situated along the Mekong where mix Lao, Hmong and Khamou.

DAY 12 : PAKBENG –MEKONG CRUISE – PAK OU – LOUANG PRABANG (LAOS)

Breakfast at hotel. Continuation of the cruise on the Mekong to Luang Prabang through beautiful landscapes. Stop at the sacred Pak Ou Caves, home to hundreds of Buddha statues. Arrival in Luang Prabang by late afternoon, a World Heritage Site.
Dinner with culinary discovery of Kali Kai, chicken casserole with curry and coconut. You will stay one more night in a hotel located in the city center. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
