Day 01: CHIANG MAI – PAI
Free lunch and dinner – arrival in Chiang Mai before 8am – night at Pai
You are welcomed at the airport of Chiang Mai by our local team and your English speaking guide. Transfer to Pai. Free lunch. In the afternoon, visit of three ethnic villages: Ban Bang Paek (Lisu tribe) - although they represent only about 5% of the total population of the tribes, the Lisu are very famous because of their bright clothes. They are established in areas of high altitude such as Ban Mae Ping (Karen tribe), Ban Ban Jabo and Payang (Lahu tribe). The Lahu are hunters by tradition. With animistic origin, like most tribes, many of them have been converted to Christianity. Their characteristics are their red and black jackets and black skirts.

Day 02: PAI – MAE TAENG – MAE NGAT - CHIANG DAO
Free lunch and dinner – free afternoon – night at Chiang Dao
Breakfast at hotel. Then, drive to Mae Ngat and stop at Ngat Dam: a peaceful place. Its geographical position attracts people of Chiang Mai in search of tranquillity. After passing through rice fields and rolling hills, the mountain road head to the Sri Lanna National Park.
Lunch at the lake. Free time. Possibility to swim. The more experienced will enjoy the on-site diving, canoeing or fishing. Drive to Chiang Dao. Dinner. Overnight in Chiang Dao
Day 03: CHIANG DAO – DOI ANGKHANG - THATON
Free lunch and dinner – night at Thaton – 3h drive
Breakfast the hotel. Then short bike ride (10 km-2hrs) to explore the beautiful surroundings. The Chiang Dao Caves in Ban Tham. It is said that the network covers 10 to 14km in the belly of the mountain. Discovery of Doi Luang, the limestone mountain with a cone shape is located in the Chiang Dao Wildlife Reserve, 2,195 meters above sea level, making it the third Thai highest peak. The region is rich in flowers, birds and butterflies.
Doi Ang Khang Royal Agricultural is a research center for crops, flowering plants, fruit trees and vegetables. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Thaton. Discovery of the Fang Hot Springs located in Ban Pin, 50 hot springs in an area of 5 hectares in the middle of the forest. Three of them are continuously boiling at temperatures ranging from 90 to 100°C. Ban Tha Ton is located on the banks of the Kok River. His fame comes mainly from the fact that it is the best starting point for trips in canoes down the river to Chiang Rai, a journey of 3.5hours through hill tribe villages and jungle landscapes. Day 4 : THATON – MAE FA LUANG – GOLDEN TRIANGLE – CHIANG KHONG
Free lunch and dinner – night at Chiang Khong – 5,45h drive
Breakfast at hotel. Then, drive to Mae Salong. The cultural and artistic Park of Mae Fah Luang in Chiang Rai concentrates one of the largest collections of Lanna antiques, some objects are dated from several hundred years. The park has three main buildings housing various exhibitions of teak wood works. Visitors can also take the opportunity to admire the beautiful flower garden of Mae Fah Luang near the Doi Tung Royal Villa built in 1990. Mae Salong is a village in the clouds in the middle of the Golden Triangle, offers splendid panoramic views all around.
It is an ideal place for hiking peacefully in a beautiful nature away from the crowds. The story of Mae Salong is related to opium and the Kuomintang. This tour will take you in the footsteps of KMT soldiers whose descendants are the present inhabitants of Mae Salong. You will discover during this half day tea plantations, ethnic minorities and an interesting history page. Drive to Mae Sai.
Free lunch. Mae Sai is the northernmost town in Thailand. It is one of three crossing points between Thailand and Myanmar (Burma). Like all border towns, it is an important trade center. There are many markets with a strong influence from Burma. Transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Chiang Khong. Ban Sop Ruak (the point "Golden Triangle") meets the borders of three countries: Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Visit the Opium Museum and cruise on the Mekong River at the crossroads of three countries. Visit the majestic Wat Phra That Chom Kitti facing the Golden Triangle. Visit the walled city of Chiang Saen, former capital of the Yonok Thai kingdom (built from 1419), with 70 temples including the remains of Wat Paa Sak and museum. Continue to Chiang Khong. Free dinner (suggestion - Dinner with traditional dance). Overnight in Chiang Khong
Day 05 : CHIANG KHONG – HOUAY XAI – CROISIÈRE MEKONG – PAKBENG (LAOS)
Lunch and dinner included – night at Pakbeng Lodge- 7.5h cruise
Breakfast at hotel. Early morning, cross the border for a cruise from 7:30 am on a traditional boat. Thus begins the discovery of the banks of the Mekong, mythical river that runs through China, Laos separates Burma and Thailand, plunges into Cambodia and opens in Vietnam. The landscape is wonderful. Main axis of communication between the North of the country and Luang Prabang is a busy road lined with villages. You will visit two river villages during this tour. After lunch on board, you will arrive at Pakbeng, town situated along the Mekong where Lao, Hmong, Khamou are mixed.
Dinner and overnight at Pakbeng Lodge where sunrise and sunset are unforgettable.
