DAY 01 : Arrival Chiang Mai - Without Guide

Arrival at Chiang Mai airport, where you will be welcomed by a private driver.

He will wait for you with a sign with your name on it.

Transfert to the hotel. Settle down and free time at your convenience.

DAY 02 : CHIANG MAI – With guide

Breakfast at the hotel.

At 8am, your english-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel.

Departure in a private car to visit Doi Suthep Temple.

The hill that bears its name is dominated by a splendid temple, the Wat Phrathat, at 1,000 meters of altitude. It is reachable by climbing 350 steps framed by serpents and giant porcelain dragons.

Your afternoon will be dedicated to the visit of the old town.

Lunch – FREE – At your own expense

You will visit :

Wat Chedi Luang, which consists of an impressive chedi originally built in 1411.

Nearby is situated the Wat Phan Thao, whose viharn is built entirely of teak wood.

Wat Pra Singh, which owes its reputation to Pra Singh (Lion Buddha); The most revered Bouddha statue of the city.

The Warorot market, also called "Kad Luang" in the local dialect, to discover the local life of Chiang Mai.

The Market Warorot is situated on the banks of the River Ping and a stone's throw from the flower market.

This walk will take you through the biggest and oldest market of Chiang Mai.

You will walk with the help of your guide through its many stalls of traditional Lanna textiles, its fruits and vegetables, its stalls of typical dishes of the Northern region.

History, anecdotes and scenery will be the key words of this walk.

Return to your hotel and free time at your convenience.

DAY 03 : Chiang Mai - With Guide

Breakfast at the hotel

After the breakfast, transfert to Mae Taman Camp.

The camp is situated in a natural area, along the Taeng river.

Discover the camp, participate to a show and go on an elephant ride for about 45 minutes in the camp surroundings.

Go on a stroll on a bamboo raft for about 50 minutes on the Taeng River.

Transfer to the village craft of Sankampaeng (1H30).

Visit of Sankhampaeng to appreciate the diversity of North Thailand craft’s, this village located at 13 km from town, is famous for its traditional and manual production of silk, cotton, lacquer ...

Chiang Mai's first-class cottons are of incomparable quality and can be adapted to any style and interior decorations. The biggest selection is in Sankampaeng.

Return to your hotel and free time at leisure.

DAY 04 : CHIANG MAI – CHIANG RAI – White temple –Kok River– Ruammit Village – Yafu Village  With guide

Around 07 :30, your english-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel.

Transfer to Chiang Rai (3h drive)

Visit of the Wat Rong Khun Temple. Situated nearby town (about 15kms), this temple, nicknamed the “White Temple” is really different from all the other ones that you may usually see in Thailand and which have centuries of history. Created by a Thai artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat, the construction of the modern temple, which began only in 1997, combines Buddhist and contemporary art.

Transfer to the landing dock to take a local long-tail boat to Ban Ruammit. (About 1h cruising)

The Kok River originates from the Daen Lao Range, Shan State of Burma. It flows eastwards to the border of Burma and Thailand, arrives at the Thai border town of Thaton. Several kilometers downstream from Chiang Rai, the river becomes a lake.

Arrival at the village, welcome by your local guide.

Ban Karen Raummit is situated on the Kok river side. Around this village live several mountain tribes like the Akha, Lahu, Karen, Lisu, Hmong and Lue.

You will walk to Yafu village (about 2h trekking, rather upstream). The locals are immigrants from Lahu tribes of Burma. The community practices ancestral religion which is Buddhism.

Installation at your Lahu homestay and free time to discover the village.

Dinner and homestay overnight. 

DAY 05 : Yafu Village – Huay Mae Zai Waterfalls  - Apha Village - With guide

This morning, you will go for about 1H30 trek until the viewpoint of Doi Bor where you will see the Chiang Rai city. Then, you will continue to walk approximatly 1H30 more to reach the Huay Mae Xai Waterfall.

Then, visit of Ja Lae Village, situated at about 15 minutes by walk from the waterfall.

The locals are also Lahu.

Lunch during hiking

Transfer to Apha village where Akha live, a very welcoming tribe.

Settle down and free time to discover the village by yourself.

Tonight you will enjoy some traditional Akha dances.

Dinner and Homestay overnight

DAY 06 : Apha Village – PHA YAO – LAMPANG – CHIANG MAI - with guide

Departure with a private car to Lampang. (about 3h30 drive)

Along the way, discover Phayao, a really peaceful and charming city of the North region.

The modern provincial capital borders a lake, bordered itself by mountain ranges on the banks of which Wat Sri Khom Kham, and the Doi Chom Thong summit are situated, well-known by local people as “Phrathat Chom Thong”.

Visit of Analayo Temple, situated not far from the city.

Eclectic temple, with multiple buildings of differents styles, spread over a considerable surface across over the entire slope of the mountain (Doi Busala Kham).

At the summit, thrones the huge Buddha and where you will enjoy some magnificent views of Phayao and its lake.

Crossing of the Phayao Lake, the biggest fresh water lake in the north of the country, by a traditional boat to reach the ancient temple, Wat Tilok Aram, situated on the central island of the lake.

Arrival in Lampang.

Horse-drawn carriage rides for a stroll around the city during approximately 1 hour, going through the old borough where are some nice wooden-houses. Stop to Sao Nak House (House with lots of pillars) and the temple Kaew Don Tao, burmese style.

Transfer to your hotel in Chiang Mai (1h30 drive) and free time at your convenience.

DAY 07 : CHIANG MAI – BANGKOK DEPARTURE  Without guide

During the day, a private driver will meet you at your hotel.
