DAY 01 : YANGON International Arrival

You may arrive at any time today into Yangon international airport.

On arrival at Yangon International Airport, your English speaking guide will meet you in the arrivals area of the airport, with welcome board with your name on it. You will then transfer to your hotel, by air-conditioned vehicle (transfer time approximately 1 hour). A visit to Yangon will prove that Myanmar is one of Southeast Asia’s cultural treasures. Yangon, the former capital city of Myanmar, is the main gateway to this beautiful Southeast Asian country. Pagodas are the main tourist attractions in Yangon, but Myanmar is also well-known for good food. As Myanmar's commercial and artistic hub, it's Yangon that most reflects the changes that have occurred since the country reopened to the world. There's a rash of new restaurants, bars and shops for all to enjoy for every budget.

Enjoy a walking tour to discover this wonderful city. Your guide will lead you to stairway that leads up to Pansodan Road from where you will walk down to visit the Pansodan Art Gallery as to discover some amazing art. Then continue to Bo Aung Kyaw Street and discover old 1920’s Hindi buildings. Cross the road and proceed to the Historical Ministers’ Secretariat Building where General Aung San and his ministers were assassinated in 1947. Then stroll down to Bogalay Zay Street and try a Burmese authentic snack before visiting the Armenian Church. Continue to the Yangon Post Office and walk along Strand road. Take a break and sip on a cocktail at the Legendary Strand Hotel. Continue your walk to Bank Street, which is the legal district of the city. It covers top sites in the central part of the city, including the High Court, the Immanuel Baptist Church, the City Hall and Sule Pagoda.

You will be transfer to the Shwedagon Pagoda. Then you will visit the emblem of the country: The Shwedagon pagoda. Walk, to the sound of the bells and incantations of the faithful, at the foot of the huge golden stupa that the last gleam of the sun glows with a thousand lights.

DAY 02 : MANDALAY - UBEIN - AVA - MINGUN - MANDALAY

Breakfast at Hotel

Set off for a day trip to the former capitals of Amarapura, Ava and Mingun.

The day begins with a stroll at sunrise over the 200 year-old U Bein Bridge, constructed entirely from teak.

Then, proceed to Ava, the former capital from the 14th to the 18th century and visit by horse carriage the old wooden Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace, the fort, the Maha Aungmye Bonzan and Nan Myint Tower.

Lunch at local restaurant.

Transfer to Mandalay Pier, then embark on a cruise to Mingun (45 min).

Visit of the Mingun Pagoda which was built by King Bodawpaya in the early 19th century and which should have been the largest in the world. The death of the sovereign in 1819, then the earthquake of 1838, halted this grandiose project. Another stop is the Mingun Bell (90 tons, 4mhigh and 5 m diameter), the second biggest bell in the world after Moscow. You will also see the beautiful white pagoda of Hsinbyume.

Return to Mandalay aboard the boat.

DAY 03 : MANDALAY - BAGAN

Breakfast at Hotel

After breakfast at your hotel, your English speaking guide will meet you in the reception of your hotel, and transfer with you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Bagan. (5 hours drive)

Lunch at local restaurant.

Then, you will head to a traditional lacquer-ware workshop where you can observe skilled artisans produce one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. By the end of your visit, you’ll have an in-depth understanding of the traditional techniques that have been used for generations. Afterward, it’s the kids’ turn to paint their very own lacquer-ware coasters. An artisan will help the children bring their own creative touches to this Myanmar tradition. The coasters will need time to dry and will be picked up in the evening. (For this activity, the maximum number of participants is 15 persons. Over 15 persons, we will only visit the lacquer-ware workshop).

Enjoy a dinner puppet show.

DAY 04 : BAGAN

Optional visit with supplement: Roam the skies of Bagan to get a bird’s eye view of the astounding beauty of this ancient city in Myanmar. Ride on a hot air balloon sharing a comfortable wicker basket balloon with your friends, family or loved ones. Available from October 20 to March 31.

Breakfast at Hotel

Start sightseeing the amazing site with the elegant Htilominlo Temple, renowned for its fine plaster sculptures and glazed stoneware decorations. This great temple was built by King Htilominlo in 1218. The temple was damaged in the 1975 earthquake and was later renovated. Then head to the

Golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda for an introduction into Bagan’s rich history. Then visits to Thatbyinnyu, the largest temple in Bagan.

The Ananda Temple, which has been described as an architectural masterpiece and is certainly one of the most striking temples in Bagan.

Discover its murals, dating from the 13th century. In the afternoon, proceed to Manuha Temple; built in Mon style in1059 and Nanpaya temple, a sandstone monument. At the end of the day, you will discover ancient temples from another perspective: By horse cart!

DAY 05 : BAGAN - HEHO - INLE LAKE

Breakfast at Hotel

After breakfast at your hotel, your English speaking guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel, and transfer with you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Nyaung U airport where you will catch your flight to Heho. (Transfer time: 15 minutes/ Flight time: 1 hour). Then you will be transferred from Heho airport to Nyaung Shwe jetty. (Transfer time: approximately 1 hour).

Then, you will board your private wooden boat for excursion on Inle Lake and head to Pa-oh village of Indein. Then, you will walk for about 30/40 mnthrough the village and the surrounding forest. Then, visit the magnificent complex ofAlaung Sitthou and the old stupas buried in the vegetation that you will reach byclimbing a long staircase. Enjoy a panoramic view of the lake from In Dein Monastery.

Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, explore villages built on stilts and floating gardens, getting a chance to learn about the life and culture of the lake’s residents. Next, you will hop in your boat and take a watery journey to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Inle Lake’s most sacred temple. You will have the chance to admire five Buddha images whose gold leaf offerings have given them a peculiar shape. Continue by boat to Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery which houses dozens of Shan Buddha images, which is famous for its ‘jumping cats’. Then you can explore the local crafts at the weaving village of Inpawkhone and at the cheroot factory where they make the Burmese cigars by hand. Return to your hotel by pirogue. (Transfer time 1h00).

DAY 06 : INLE LAKE - YANGON

After breakfast at your hotel, your English speaking guide will meet you in the reception of your hotel, and transfer with you in pirogue for the day’s activities.

A day away from tourists in the beautiful floating village run by local food loving family is a must on your trip to Inle Lake. Board your private motorized pirogue and head to the local market and shop for your ingredients together with your chef. He/she will explain to you what local ingredients are used for your cuisine and the advantages of this.

Then, you will be taken by boat to a floating village passing through narrow boat ways. On arrival at the local house, you will have some relax time before your cooking lesson. The chef first explains about ingredients and show you first how to cook, then ready to cook between 8 to 10 special Shan dishes. After cooking all dishes, it is time to taste the foods you have made. Lunch at cooking class.

Then, you will go back to the pier by motorized pirogue where you’ll be picked up and driven to Heho Airport (transfer time approximately 1hour - flight time 1 hour). At Yangon, you will be picked up and transferred to the Shwedagon Pagoda. (Transfer time approximately 1 hour)

DAY 07 : YANGON International Departure

Today, you will be immersed to the real Yangon with a fascinating morning excursion, through the city and its suburbs. Start with a ride on the Circular Train, famous transportation in Myanmar. Enjoy watching the busy morning activities on the train: the locals go to work and the sellers show their fresh goods. (Train ride is 20-30 minutes; basic carriage with no air conditioning). Jump off at one of the stations and take a ride on a trishaw (the most famous local transportation in Myanmar), through a local neighborhood. Visit nearby colorful markets to see fresh goods such as bananas and coconuts being sold as well as fresh fish, vegetables and other items. It’s then time to take a break- with the locals! Sit at a tea shop, sip on sweet tea or coffee and taste a variety of traditional Myanmar snacks.

Lunch at local restaurant.

This afternoon, you’ll experience the beauty of the colonial architecture in Yangon by discovering some old buildings with Victorian facades built by the Britishin the 19th century such as the Post office or the stand hotel. Wander along thestreet and enjoy different kinds of local street foods.

Then, will head to Yangon international airport. (Transfer time: approximately 1hour)
