Day 01 : Luang Prabang - With Guide


Morning arrival at Luang Prabang Airport. Welcome by your local English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel.

Lunch – FREE – At your own expense.

Enjoy a snack while your guide explains your travel itinerary.

Free time at leisure to have a rest and enjoy the swimming pool at the hotel.

Then, at the end of the day you will head to a small village, Ban Xieng Lek, specialized in the production of mulberry paper.

You will learn to make your own paper, and to choose the diary you want to fill in during your discoveries.

Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02 : LUANG PRABANG  – With guide 

Breakfast at the hotel

In the morning, explore the city with a traditional mode of transport: the Tuk Tuk. Former Royal Capital, nowadays classified as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, you will discover the many  hidden wonders that the city has to offer  with your guide.

You will have the opportunity to visit:

- The morning Market; will give you a quick overview of Lao life. Your guide will show you all the Laotian specialties, in order to take note for your travel diary, and above all to sample some food.

Then, you will go to the ethnical museum of Luang Prabang: T.A.E.C.

You will start the visit of the museum with a guide specialized in Laotian ethnic groups. Then you will have the opportunity to participate to either a bamboo weaving or Hmong embroidery workshop.These are two crafts still very popular in Laos.

Children can also discover and try traditional ethnic costumes.

Lunch in the garden of Coconut Garden Restaurant.

Then, you will continue to discover the city:

- Vat Visoun, the oldest temple in the city, with a unique style, whose window balusters reminds the Khmer style of Vat Phou in Champassak, and That Makmo, its stupa with the characteristic shape of a watermelon.

- Vat Xieng Thong, The most beautiful Temple of the Royal City, a vast set of sacred buildings; it is one of Lao’s art jewels,

- Mount Phousi, a sacred hill located in the city-center. It is accessible by a long staircase winding through many pagodas laden with legends. From its summit, it offers a panoramic view of the city, the Mekong and the surrounding mountains,

Late afternoon, you could enjoy a break at the Banneton to have a snack.

Return to your hotel to select your first 10 photos to print for your diary.

DAY 03 : LUANG PRABANG – PAKBENG – With guide 

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the early morning, you will go to the Mekong River where you will embark on a traditional private slow boat.

After approximately 1h30 of your departure, you will stop at the confluence of the Mekong and the Nam Ou River to discover the sacred caves of Pak Ou.

For hundreds of years they have housed hundreds of Buddha statuettes that have been left by pilgrims for centuries.

Lunch – served on board.

The Mekong River is the mythical river that flows from the Himalayas and successively invaded the plains of China, separating Laos from Myanmar and Thailand, before reaching Cambodia and ends in Vietnam. Lined by villages of different minorities, it is the major route between the north of the country and Luang Prabang.

You will arrive at the Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge located on the Mekong banks late afternoon.

Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge.

Day 04 : PAKBENG – With guide 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Day 1 of Elephant trekking 2D/1N

Transfer to the Mekong Elephant Camp to attend the elephant bath.

You will also discover the Lao fauna very present on the Elephant Camp. You will be able to collect leafs to fill up your diary.

Return to the lodge to begin the trek on elephant’s back. The village of Ban Lai will be the first stop.

Visit the village and picnic lunch by the river or in the surroundings of the village.

Continue to Ban Houey Khaa on the back of the elephant by a trail that goes through a clear forest, and offer an open view of the multiple surrounding hills, with various vegetation (bamboo forest, vegetation, fields in cultivation).

The trek alternates moments on the elephant back with walking sessions.

You will pass close by millet crops, before arriving at the village of Ban Houey Kha.

At your arrival you will discover the village, meet your host family and be introduced to the local village  life.

DAY 05 : PAKBENG - with guide

Day 2 of Elephant trekking 2D/1N

The morning will be divided between taking care of the elephants (bathing, feeding…) and learning basic mahout’s techniques (getting on and off an elephant, leading it ...).

Then, return to Pakbeng, always on the elephant's back along a path following a creek. This section offers a different type of landscape than the previous day; Fields, slash-and-burn crops, hills and cultivated gardens.

Picnic lunch along the river.

The tour ends at the village of Ban Pong Saen Noi.

Then return to Pakbeng town.

You will participate in the making of Kratongs; that are floral compositions made to thank spirits and gods in the Buddhist religion.

Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge.

Day 06 : PAKBENG – LUANG PRABANG – With guide 

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the early morning, you will head to the Mekong River for a day’s cruise on a traditional privatized slow boat.

Lunch – served on board

Your arrival in Luang Prabang at the confluence of the Mekong and the Nam Khan is expected at the end of the day (around 17:00).

A driver (not English speaking) will wait for you to drop you off at your hotel.

Day 07 : LUANG PRABANG– SIEM REAP - With guide 

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, you will be driven through a beautiful countryside road between villages and rice paddies to reach the Kuang Sy waterfalls. A place with multiples ponds which flow one after the other in the middle of nature.

You will be able to have a stroll nearby the waterfall and even bathe there. If you wish, you may see a small reserve of necklaces Bears (free), as well as a butterfly farm.

Lunch picnic at Kuang Sy waterfalls.

Return to Luang Prabang and transfer to the international airport to catch your flight to Siem Reap.

Welcome by your Cambodian English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon, visit of the Panorama Museum, a first insight of the Angkor Archaeological Park. The first part of this museum is devoted to the presentation of the main temples of Angkor. You will then get close to a realistic 360 degree painting, representing the different elements of everyday life during the Angkorian era. You will end the visit with the projection of an animated film explaining the incredible organization needed for the construction of the site.

Day 08 : SIEM REAP -ANGKOR – With guide  

Breakfast at the hotel.

By Tuk Tuk you will go to discover the main monuments of the Angkor site. You will begin the visits by the prestigious temple of Angkor Wat. You will enter through the East Gate, away from the tourist flow and will discover the most beautiful galleries depicting the history and culture of that period. Continue by visiting the temple of Preah Khan, the sacred sword, and its mazes of gates that conceal some of the most beautiful bas-reliefs. You will meet a painter to make a painting on site.

Picnic lunch on site.

After you have finished your creation, return to your hotel to enjoy the swimming pool and continue to fill up your travel diary. In the late afternoon return to the archaeological site to visit the Ta Prohm, the renowned temple with the Kapok Tree roots that you will see under the color of sunset.

Access to the Bakan tower (central tower of Angkor Wat) is forbidden to children under 12. The tour in the Bakan Tower in Angkor Wat requires covering shoulders and knees. Wearing a scarf is not permitted. The Bakan Tower is closed to the public on Buddhist days, once a week.


You will leave the hotel to experience a static balloon flight (option: hot air balloon, depending on the season) to enjoy sunrise on Angkor site.

Return to the hotel to have your breakfast and departure for a morning dedicated to the discovery of the royal city of Angkor Thom. You will enter the fortified city built by King Jayavarman VII. After you have admired the enigmatic doors of this city, you will reach the Bayon, a central temple which at first glance displays a disorder of blackened stones and a tangle of some 50 face towers. You will continue by foot to reach the mountain temple of Baphuon and will go through the park of the royal palace to reach the Phimeanakas. It leads to the Terrace of the Elephants from where the king and his court attended games and processions.

Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon you will visit Banteay Kdei, to make some beautiful pictures in this place that mixes many styles. Return to Siem Reap early afternoon to choose and to print your photos. Comfortably settled down at your hotel, you will continue the making of your travel diary realization thanks to the material provided to you.

Hot air balloon flights depend on weather conditions and may be possible from December to March only. If impossible at sunrise the flight will be at sunset.

Day 10 : SIEM REAP - Treasure Hunt– With guide 

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure through the countryside of Siem Reap province for a treasure hunt in women citadels known as the temple of Banteay Srei;, renowned for the unusual quality of its sculptures made with a pink stone.

From here you will walk along the mountain of Phnom Kulen to reach the temple of Beng Mealea, authentic temple of Indiana Jones, where enigmas will await for your treasure hunt that will take you through this site still unexplored by archaeologists.

Lunch in a countryside farm, you will have the opportunity to discover the local and seasonal productions of fruit and market gardening.

Return to Siem Reap to visit the Scents of Angkor botanical garden with incense, soap and spice productions and some sculpture and painting workshops of the Artisans of Angkor. Return to the hotel late afternoon.

At the end of the day you will enjoy a Cambodian circus show by Phare Ponleu Selpak.

In the morning, departure to Kampong Khleang, this lakeside village is about 40 kilometers away from Siem Reap and is spared by mass tourism. It is the largest village on stilts in Tonle Sap. To reach it, you will cross the fertile areas regularly floaded by the lake and regularly transformed into rice fields. Depending on the season, enjoy a walk or a boat trip in the village to meet the locals and stop in a house where a family raises crocodiles. If the level of the lake is low, you will navigate to the large lake where the Vietnamese people who live there move their houses according to the seasons.

Lunch at a homestay on stilts.

In the afternoon head to Phnom Penh. Stop on the way to climb the steps of  Phnom Santuk hill. At the top you will arrive in the middle of a group of monkeys before opening up a path to discover the monuments and pagodas of which some rock engravings date from the Angkorian era. Not far from Phnom Penh you will taste a local specialty, the mythical fried tarantula! Settle down at the hotel in the city center of Phnom Penh at the end of the day.

DAY 12 : PHNOM PENH - KEP -  with guide

After breakfast, you will go for a city tour to visit the main monuments of the capital with the Royal Palace and its many buildings. You will see the main residence of King Sihamoni. You continue the visit with the Silver Pagoda, paved with 500 silver blocks of 1kg, each. It houses the frescoes inspired by the Ramayana and other treasures of the crown as well as a very beautiful collection of Buddha.

Then, visit of the National Museum which houses, in a building built by a French architect in the Khmer style, a very rich collection of Khmer art, especially statuary. Most of the objects come from the Angkor site.

Lunch in Romdeng Restaurant, which trains the young Cambodians to the catering business.

Late afternoon, you will head to the coastline and the ancient colonial coastal resort of Kep. Settle down at the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 13 : KEP - Rabbit Island – With guide

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, enjoy some time to walk around the crab market to buy seafood for your picnic lunch before embarking a fisherman's boat to reach Koh Tonsay, also called rabbit island (30 min.). Settle down in a bungalow on a paradise beach of this desert island.  Soak up the sun and relax while your guide is preparing the seafood BBQ.

Sea-food lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, enjoy a stroll through the forest and the small forgotten beaches. Return by boat to Kep late afternoon and free time at leisure to complete your travel diary.

In case of impossible navigation due to climatic conditions, the excursion will be replaced by a picnic on an uncrowded beach not far from the Vietnamese border and the visit of the plantations of fruit and pepper.
