At the end of a sandy track, you will discover a pagoda with a small Angkorian temple. Then reach a hamlet surrounded by rice fields where you will discover artisanal basketry traditions and elders who still wear traditional clothes. You will continue this journey with the preparation of your lunch. A Cambodian chef will introduce you to the preparation of typical dishes such as green mango salad, Amok or traditional soup.

DAY 02 : SIEM REAP – Bike Day

Breakfast at the B&B

Bike day... But not too much!

Depart by tuk tuk from your hotel to reach the archaeological site early in the morning. From there, you will start your bike ride after visiting the Preah Khan temple. Enigmatic in many ways, it was built by King Jayavarman VII who dedicated it to his father.

Here the stone and the roots of centuries-old trees intertwined. The shaded track passes by the "dam of the French", built at the beginning of the last century, before reaching the small temple of Ta Nei nestled in the haven of greenery.

You continue by mountain bike on a laterite track through the forest to reach the temple of Ta Prohm, "the ancestor Brahma", to take advantage of magic moments in this temple which was left, partly, in the state of nature in order to preserve the memory of its discovery by the first explorers who have revealed the city of Angkor to the West. (7km of mountain biking on flat and groomed dirt and sand track)

Lunch at a local restaurant on site.

The afternoon will focus on the discovery of the great hydraulic city of Angkor Thom.

King Jayavarman VII built a defensive wall made of laterite forming a 3 km square wide, with a one hundred meters wide outer moat to protect the city from invaders.

After admiring the enigmatic gates of the city, you will go on foot to visit the Terrace of the Elephants, where the king and his court was attending games and processions follow by the enclosure of the Royal Palace with the Phimeanakas. After walking along the Baphuon, whose restoration undertaken by France lasted nearly 50 years, you will reach the Bayon, central temple of this fortified city.

At first glance, the Bayon presents a mess of blackened stones and a tangle of some fifty towers with faces.

Your day will end with a bike ride on the ramparts and a sunset from the south gate bridge. (7km of mountain biking on flat and groomed dirt tracks).

Dinner - FREE - at your own expense.

Note: Persons not wishing to cycle will be transported in the vehicle available.

DAY 03 : SIEM REAP - Sunrise - Angkor Wat - Banteay Srei - Banteay Samre

Breakfast at the village.

Depart from your hotel before dawn, for the archaeological site, where you will climb the hill of Phnom Bakheng, the state temple of King Yasovarman I and the first construction of Angkor City. At the top you will dominate the province and admire the sunrise over the Angkorian forest far from the hordes of tourists.

The adventure continues on a dirt and sand track unknown to tourist circuits. After climbing a small mountain, you will arrive in a hamlet with traditional houses which seems coming straight out Angkorian time. Breakfast is organized in the village near the healer's house. The tour will continue with the discovery of Angkor Wat, where King Suryavarman II reigned over the Kingdom of Cambodia from 1113 to 1152. The pyramid plan of the temple, combined with the vast skillfully arranged perspectives indicates a mastery of composition never equaled.

Lunch in a traditional wooden house. Bring your swimming suit!

Located 35 km northeast of Angkor Wat, you will reach Banteay Srei, the “Women’s Citadel”, one of the most appealing architectural creations ever erected in Cambodia. Fine pink sandstone carved decorations have made the celebrity of this temple.

Along the way you will discover the harvest and processing of palm sugar.

On the way back, you visit the temple of Banteay Samre, citadel of the Samres ethnic group.

It was built by Hindus around the same time as the Angkor Wat temple.

Return to your B&B where you will spend the evening in the company of a French journalist specialized in Cambodia.

Dinner and private conference.
